See Mt Fuji from Lake Tanuki
South SideLake Tanuki is a serene lake on the western side of Mt Fuji, famous for the "Diamond Fuji" phenomenon where the setting sun aligns perfectly with the summit of Mt Fuji. This occurs around mid-April and late August, drawing photographers from across Japan. The lake offers beautiful reflections of Mt Fuji on calm mornings, and the surrounding area remains refreshingly undeveloped compared to the Fuji Five Lakes. The campgrounds around the lake are popular for their peaceful atmosphere and unobstructed mountain views. In winter, the clear air provides some of the best Fuji photography conditions.
