About this view --------------- This camera watches the sea from Shichirigahama, the long dark-sand beach between Kamakura and Enoshima on the Shonan coast, about 71 km from the summit. The composition is the one that appears on postcards and in countless films and anime: surfers in the water, Enoshima island to the right, and Mt Fuji rising behind it across Sagami Bay. The Enoden tram line runs right along this beach, making it one of the easiest great Fuji views in Japan to reach from Tokyo. Like every long-distance sea view, this one runs on air clarity. Winter days deliver the sharp, snowcapped Fuji over the water; summer haze often hides the mountain completely even in fine beach weather.
