About this view --------------- This camera looks south at Mt Fuji from Fujikawaguchiko town on the south-eastern shore of Lake Kawaguchi, opposite the more famous Oishi Park. Fuji is about 16 km to the south, slightly lower in the frame than from the north shore because of the different shoreline angle. The foreground is a long stretch of open water plus the Kawaguchi-Ohashi bridge at the lake's eastern narrow. Lakeshore hotels and the swan boats from the central pier also appear at the edges of the frame. Visibility window mirrors the Oishi Park camera: sunrise through mid-morning gives the cleanest Fuji silhouette. The town's heat island effect can warm the lower air by late morning and push thin haze across the lake. Wind direction shows clearly on the lake surface here, which makes it a useful afternoon-haze indicator. Cherry blossom season (early to mid-April) and the late-November maple peak overlay the foreground with seasonal color.
